In April, the Police announced that they will undertake a new investigation into the deaths of hundreds of patients at The Gosport War Memorial Hospital between 1987 and 2001.
Records examined by the Gosport Independent Panel have shown that 456 patients had their lives shortened between 1989 and 2000 through the medically unjustified administration of opioids.
Verisona Law have been approached to act on behalf of the relatives of four of those patients affected by the scandal, to bring a civil claim against Portsmouth Healthcare Trust for wrongful death. Verisona are now appealing for witnesses in relation to the care at The Gosport War Memorial Hospital between 1987 and 2001 in order to support this claim.
The medical negligence team will claim damages in relation to the pain, suffering and loss of amenity as well as other consequential losses. Verisona Law are funding this claim on a ‘no win no fee’ basis with a 0% success fee resulting in no deduction from the damages obtained for their client, ensuring they receive 100% of their compensation.
