Verisona Law were recently instructed on the sale of the entire issued share capital of Brickmongers (Wessex) Ltd to the Brickability Group, a nationwide and market-leading supplier of bricks and building materials.
Hampshire-based Brickmongers (Wessex) Ltd – owned and managed by Richard Manthorpe - have been trading from Wickham for over ten years and have established themselves as a key player in the brick supply and external building materials industries across Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, Sussex and Wiltshire.
Grant Usher, Associate Solicitor, explained:
“As a firm, we have been working with Brickmongers (Wessex) Ltd over the last few years and the completion of this transaction represents a wonderful achievement for Richard. To operate such a successful business in the South against a backdrop of a challenging construction market in the UK is testament to the hard work of Richard and his team. I have no doubt that joining the Brickability Group will lead to even more success for Brickmongers (Wessex) Ltd.
For us, this deal is another example of our work of advising an owner-managed business in the region. Verisona Law has acted on several matters involving clients in the construction and manufacturing sectors over the last few months and our team’s knowledge of the sectors has proved to be beneficial to our existing clients and on new instructions.
This deal certainly had some unique challenges, but the team at Verisona Law worked incredibly hard to complete the transaction. We wish Richard and everyone at Brickmongers (Wessex) Ltd well for the future”.
Richard Manthorpe of Brickmongers (Wessex) Ltd said of Verisona Law’s involvement:
“I ventured into the unknown when looking to sell my company, and what unravelled in the process was a little daunting to say the least. I can say though the team at Verisona, and especially Grant Usher in particular, made the transaction process bearable. Their thorough and professional service gave me the confidence I needed to feel I was in safe hands.
I would definitely recommend their service to others in a similar position.”
