TV auctioneer and antique valuer, John Cameron, took time out of his busy schedule to talk about his inspirational career at the bi-monthly breakfast meeting of Verisona Law’s ‘Portsmouth Young Professionals’.
John Cameron, who rose to fame on daytime television through programmes such as ‘Cash in the Attic’, ‘Bargain Hunt’ and ‘Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’, explained to an enthralled audience how he identified and took full advantage of opportunities that developed his career in antique valuation and auction and gave insight into how he manages his television work, commercial business and renowned local firm, Nesbits.
‘I think the most striking thing about John’s talk was how open and honest he was with the group,’ said Danielle Rushton, Marketing Manager for legal firm Verisona Law which founded and organises the PYP.
‘From his background growing up in Portsmouth and obvious gratitude to people who gave him his first opportunities, to what he has learned through his more recent media career and experiencing the world of celebrity, he gave a fascinating account of his professional life to date.’
The Portsmouth Young Professionals meets every other month for breakfast at The Pavillion Café in Southsea, providing the opportunity for attendees to share knowledge and experience of working in the area.
‘We were very pleased with how many local firms and businesses were represented,’ says Danielle. ‘We are already making plans for the next event.’
