Surrey choirmaster John Lillis guilty of indecent assault

A 63-year-old former teacher and choirmaster has been found guilty of indecently assaulting two boys under the age of 16 in Surrey.

John Lillis, of Arthur Road, Windsor, Berkshire, was convicted at Guildford Crown Court of one count of attempted rape and two of indecent assault. He had earlier admitted five counts of indecent assault against the boys. Lillis was remanded on conditional bail and will be sentenced at the same court on 6 September. he offences happened between 1976 and 1982 at a house near St Dunstan’s Catholic Church in Woking.
