Verisona Law are congratulating Grant Usher from the firm’s Corporate & Commercial team on being shortlisted for the Hampshire Law Society’s ‘Junior Lawyer of the Year’.
Associate Solicitor, Grant Usher, has been singled out by the Hampshire branch of the Law Society for his astonishing achievements in the past year.
Having joined Verisona Law in April 2017, Grant immediately set to work alongside our Chairman, Michael Dyer, and Head of Corporate & Commercial, Stephen Ryde-Weller, on several high-profile transactions which attracted national attention, including the sale of Portsmouth Football Club to ex-Disney CEO Michael Eisner’s Tornante Group.
‘Grant managed an immense Data Room, packed with confidential information and completely mastered it,’ says Michael Dyer who led the transaction. ‘He dealt with extensive and detailed business enquiries and quickly demonstrated his ability to understand, grasp and deal with complex and specialist issues, making a crucial contribution to the team.’
In addition to the sale of Portsmouth Football Club, Grant has worked on corporate deals and commercial agreements and has provided GDPR advice for some of Verisona Law’s most prestigious clients across a range of niche sectors. His work in the marine sector, for example, has included the management of refinancing a coastal boatyard on the verge of insolvency, acquisition of a marine engineering company, and Management Buy Out of one of the UK’s largest new boat dealerships.
Now Grant has been recognised for his professionalism, commitment to client care and strategic approach to business development by the Hampshire Law Society.
“I am delighted to have been shortlisted for the Junior Lawyer of the Year,’ he says. ‘The level of responsibility I have been afforded since my arrival at Verisona Law has undoubtedly helped me grow and progress as a lawyer, which results in providing the best advice and guidance to clients. I have been especially pleased to have been able to develop existing client relationships and formulate new ones with professional services firms and new clients alike.’
Michael Dyer adds: “In my experience it is very rare for a newly qualified solicitor to make the kind of impact and earn the level of respect that Grant has in such a short space of time since joining the team.”
The presentation of the Hampshire Law Society Awards 2018 will take place during the association’s annual dinner on 17th May at the Hilton Hotel, Ageas Bowl, West End.
