Portsmouth Community Football Club has today released a statement confirming overwhelming support from its stakeholders and fans for a proposed sale of the Club to the Tornante Group LLC. Tornante are based in Los Angeles and are wholly owned by the Eisner family. Michael Eisner was the CEO and Chairman of the Walt Disney Company for 21 years. He recently presented his vision for the club to an audience of Pompey Supporters Trust at the Portsmouth Guildhall.
Mike Dyer, Chairman of Verisona and a director of the Club and advising on the proposed transaction, confirmed that the Club would now be discussing the next steps with Tornante’s lawyers with a view to progressing the transaction and commented that “there is still a great deal of work to be done over the coming weeks.”
